About Circa

Our Story

Circa began in 2016, in the Summer batch at Y Combinator, under our original name, EventGeek.

We set out with a simple idea: to make life easier for the people who make events happen. Event planners and managers juggle endless details, tight deadlines, and constant change — and we wanted to build tools that gave them clarity, confidence, and control.

Then, in 2020, everything changed.

As events around the world shut down, we gathered the community together for Reboot 2020: Adapting Your Events to the Coronavirus Challenge. Thousands of planners joined us to share ideas and support one another through the uncertainty. It was a moment of reckoning — but also of incredible resilience. Seeing event professionals lift each other up inspired us to adapt, too.

That summer, we moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and reimagined our company as Circa — a new name for a new era of events.

Since 2021, we've taken to the skies (literally), with the Circa hot air balloon and hosting Elevate at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. It has been a celebration of hope, creativity, and the joy of bringing people together again.

Today, Circa continues to build technology that helps event professionals do what they do best — create moments that matter.
